About Us
Established in 2001 Open Box is a successful, experienced Contract Publishing company based in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter.
We offer a full range of publishing services from our in-house team and work with a wide variety of clients.
We generate advertising revenues and manage all, or part of the publishing process including design, production, print and distribution for print and digital platforms.
We launch new publications, as well as taking on established publications which are in need of a makeover. We provide solutions to organisations to enable them transform their publications within a sound commercial model.

We provide complete solutions to organisations to enable them transform their publications exploring the concept, editorial and design ideas and as important the commercial potential.
We take our clients brief and work closely with them at all stages of the project from advising on editorial strategy, journalism, design, print and production as well as mailing and distribution.
We have a wide range of clients who use our services to match their needs, some just use our design team, others just our advertising sales team – most use our full range of services.

Advertising Sales
Our in house sales team, most of which have been with us over 10 years are highly experienced in creating sales strategies to meet our clients commercial goals.
We work in a number of specialist markets including the medical, construction and creative industries as well as general B2B, in most cases we work closely with Membership organisations to reach their target audience.
Contract Publishing
This is our core business, we are a full service contract publishing company covering design, editorial, advertising sales, production, print and distribution. We turn our clients ideas into reality creating print magazines and directories, interactive digital solutions covering magazines, e-newsletters, apps, websites and micro-sites.
Creative Design
Fantastic design can only be achieved by having fantastic designers, and our studio are amongst the best. They have helped transform tired membership magazines, journals and business directories into engaging publications that clients and advertisers love.
Print & Distribution
With many years of experience and the long established relationships with many class leading and award winning suppliers. We are confident that we can make a difference to our clients print and distribution costs without compromising quality

Stuart Walters and Sam Skiller, founded Open Box in 2001, to focus on contract publishing and media sales for the Public and Private sectors. Our business has grown and evolved over the years and we now work in many interesting niche markets. While our work now covers the latest digital platforms as well and print our values remain old-school.

Media Sales Executive
Salaried & freelance positions available
Here at Open Box we are passionate about what we do, working hard but having a relaxed enjoyable approach to the working day. We are always interested in speaking to experienced media sales people who have the talent to work with new and existing clients across a range of prestigious magazines, directories, apps and digital media. The role involves working across a number of our publications making outbound calls to a base of existing customers but also with the responsibility of generating new business accounts across the year. You will need a highly structured and pro-active approach and be motivated to generate sales every day against campaign targets – we are 100% target driven. We provide all the market knowledge needed to be successful in the role but we need someone who has the necessary sales skills, can take responsibility and is self-motivated. This will ideally suit someone who is looking for a long term stable position and would appreciate working with a mature and experienced team. We are based in modern offices in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter and with an office in Pinewood Studios. There is inexpensive parking nearby and there are excellent transport links to all areas in the West Midlands via the Midland metro and rail station which are within 5 minutes’ walk of the office.
